Bill started running shortly after he started walking, and then took a forty-year break. Needing to lose weight and get some exercise, he started running again in 2012 by completing a Beginner to Finisher program on his own on a treadmill (ugh!).
In August 2012, he ran his first 5k and a year later, ran his first marathon. Running has done much more than improved his health – it has also been a great way to accomplish other goals like eating lots of pasta and making his family stand around for hours holding funny signs.
He joined the De Novo Harriers in 2018 and found the camaraderie, accountability, and ridiculous support simply unbeatable. In 2020, he joined the Board as Secretary.
